Puppy Diary

Day  28

10th December was Meg’s visit to see the vet for her scan……..much to our delight it was confirmed Meg is definitely having puppies, the vet could see at least 3 (possibly more) but as long as they are healthy puppies we are not bothered how many we have.  3 in a nice number for a 1st time mum.  I think this should produce lovely puppies as the pedigrees tie in very nicely and we love the Garry’s movement, we have liked him since seeing him in the ring at SKC last August when he won the Puppy Stakes…

Day 56

Meg appears to be keeping very well, she has had her 2nd Herpes vaccination and is getting bigger by the day. (See photo above).  She loves nothing better than getting her tummy rubbed…………..She can’t even scratch her ears when they are itchy so Cheri is very obliging and chews her ears…….Meg seems to approve of this……

15th January 08

12.00noon. Meg has been in the 1st stages of labour since early this morning, she can’t get comfortable, is panting heavily and digging at the covers or anything else she can find!!

Meg delivered the water sack at 17.15pm…….and then everything stopped!!!! After speaking to the vet it was decided that they needed to see her.  After a C section Meg is now the proud mother of 3 puppies – 1 Tan & White bitch, 1 Tan & White Dog & 1 Tri Dog.   Mother and babies are doing well……..we on the other hand are exhausted!!!!

26th January

All 3 puppies and mum are doing very well, the pups all weigh over 1 kilo each.  Meg is looking after them very well.  It won’t belong till their eyes open and they are on their feet running around.  We have applied to the Kennel Club for their names…….come back soon to see if we get the names we wanted!!!  Time goes all too quickly with puppies in the house!

Pups at 10 days, the little girl is in the middle!

27th January

We have had Kennel club confirmation back saying we got the names we requested from them – this litter will be know as:

T&W Dog - Bruadair Fobhannan (meaning - THISTLE) – if staying would be called Tiz

Tri Dog – Bruadair Fraineach (meaning – BRACKEN) – if staying would be called Bracken

T&W Bitch  -Bruadair Frith – Raineach (meaning – DWARF FERN) if staying will be called Fern..

Puppies eyes are beginning to open and they are beginning to find their voices ……………….Oh dear!!

I don't want a kiss!!
