Hi, and… ‘Ceud Mille Failte’… which translated means a hundred thousand welcomes. |

We got our first Beagle (Mack) as a companion for our Rottie Tara who was terminally ill and has since departed, may she rest in peace and forever watch over us. We trawled the websites and contacted a number of breeders and attended numerous dog shows before stumbling across our now good friends Ian Pocklington and Margaret Hall (boy she can talk!!). It was whilst attending the shows that Debbie thought ‘I could do that’ and the decision was made to give showing a try and little did we know how much it would take over our basically normal lives. We applied for an Affix from the KC which was rejected due to a similar Affix already in existence, so being a proud Scot (you would never guess), I thought that’s it… I’ll teach you…. and decided on a Gaelic theme and from there the house of Bruadair evolved.
We chose the Affix…. Bruadair, which is Gaelic for ‘A Dream’ and now… we are ‘Living the Dream’. Our dog’s names always raise a few eyebrows, but we usually get our first choice name when registering them with the KC. Choosing the names is a major project which takes hours scanning through Gaelic dictionaries but along with seeing the pups through their first few weeks, it is a task I enjoy. We have made many good friends and acquaintances since joining the show scene and wish them all every success (and a bit more for us) and thank everyone (you know who you are) who have given us advice and helped steer our path.
I’ll leave you with one thought……A dog is the only living creature who loves you more than themselves and there is no psychiatrist in the world better than a puppy licking your face.
Tioraidh an-drasta…..(Bye for now)… and we hope you live your dream. |
